Who knew....

Murphy's Law (or is it mine) says that whenever your warranty is up, whatever it is will then break.

My D-SLR died and I thought that it was out of warranty being 3 years 1 month past my purchase date. On a whim we went in to Best Buy (where I purchased it) to see what could be done. Imagine my happiness and relief when we found out that my wonderful husband had upgraded to the 4-year warranty. Who knew that purchasing the extended warranty would finally pay off! Now I just have to wait 1-2 weeks until I can take good pictures again. My camera on my phone just doesn't cut it.

I miss taking pictures like this:

Casa Grande, Arizona-After Dedication of Assembly Hall, August 28th, 2010 (last picture)

LoreLEI'S CHALLENGE-Mom & Ruth's Necklaces

My mom and my Aunt Ruth also participated in Lorelei's challenge, however since they don't have their own blogs, I am posting their necklaces on mine for them. See next post down for my entries.

Enjoy!

LORELEI'S CHALLENGE

Lorelei challenged us to use the same beads and see what we could come up with. This was too much fun once I got on a roll, however I do admit I was stumped at first. Just how would I combine all these elements into one cohesive design? Since I am trying out some new ideas of Mix-and-Match I combined this idea I have been exploring into a whole jewelry wardrobe. Pardon the pictures, my good camera is down and I had to make do with my phone. To see images larger, please click on them.

Recipe:
Take one Bracelet
add an Extender

Mix with a Converter
and throw in a pair of Earrings

Yield:
One Bracelet or

One long necklace or

One Choker

Earrings

What a way to extend a budget while having the right length to go with any outfit!

How about the Polka-Dot Variation:

Uncle John

This picture of my Uncle John and Aunt Betty was taken over Labor Day Weekend at my parents 40th Anniversary party in Washington. Uncle John fell asleep in death a few weeks later and his memorial will be this Saturday. I wish I had spent more time visiting with him when I was there, but I'm glad I was able to spend the time I did with him. Life is short and precious. I look forward to the day when I see him again. We will miss him. He always had a good camping or fishing story to tell. I especially will always remember that it was his stinky socks that kept the bears from raiding camp! I hope that Betty will be able to visit us again here in Arizona soon. She and my uncle visited us right after we moved here in 2002, and I haven't gotten to spend much time with them after that due to his poor health and how far away we live from my family.

We will miss you Uncle John.

Where Does the Time Go?

I can't believe it's been so long since I last posted. I vow to try to post at least once a week! Here is a picture of my babies since I haven't photographed any of my jewelry nor have I uploaded any recent trips. Bayle is in the sweatshirt and Baxie is in the navy t-shirt. They are too much fun and make life just a little more interesting!

Mom and I: Aunties-Janet, Betty, Ruth

On a different note: My mom and my aunties and I are going to do a bead exchange/challenge (similar to this one that Lorelei and Nancy did. (http://lorelei1141.blogspot.com/2010/09/nancy-and-loreleis-challenge.html)

I will post pictures of the beads that we mail each other as well as the finished projects. I also thought it would be fun to take Lorelei up on her challenge too. http://lorelei1141.blogspot.com/2010/10/reader-challenge.html.

Now if only I can convince my husband that I truly do NEED more beads!

Hot, Hot, Hot

Only when it's 116 degrees out for weeks on end that I really start to miss a Washington Spring. This was taken in 2005 in Anacortez area. The daffodils carpet the valley and then the tulips a few weeks after that. I can't think of anything more beautiful than a field full of flowers. Unless it's Caribbean blue water that I am lying in sipping a cool drink...I think I'll leave work early and paddle around in the pool. Enjoy life no matter where you are!
