Duplicating Your Designs?

Do you? As an "artist" do you duplicate your own designs? If you make something you really love, but don't keep it, are you tempted to replicate the design? Small tweaks but essentially the same or do you completely change it up? Or are you ok with replicating your designs even if that means they are no longer "one of a kind"?

This is my dilemma. I gave my mom a necklace that I took with me to Washington because she really loved it. I really loved how nice and chunky it was. It was comfortable to wear and provided an interesting focal for plain t-shirts. I am contemplating redoing one for myself...any opinions?

Hello Janea
I understand the dilemma you face...I've thought about this too. I say go ahead and redo the design if you love it! Why not? There are no rules, just follow your heart. If you loved the necklace the first time, by all means make it again. If your piece was made to be exclusive and the buyer understood that, that would be a different story. But to remake a design you love also helps to establish your own signature style. Those are my 2 cents for what it's worth. :-)
